LinkedIn

Nope - this isn’t an email about how to 10X your LinkedIn leads and get 50,000 followers in 1 day.

This is about a topic that’s not discussed enough:

Salespeople wasting their time on LinkedIn, using it unconsciously, scrolling through the feed, and spending hours on it a day as a consumer, NOT a creator

Here are some tips on how you can use LinkedIn more consciously:

  1. Always go on LinkedIn with a purpose - to send a message, to research a company or to write a post. Even if you want to see other content, you should set time aside for this or do it consciously. The problem with LinkedIn feeds is 80% of the time, we’re scrolling unconsciously.

  2. Be a creator not a consumer - only 2% of LinkedIn users post once a month. If you can post just once every 30 days, you’ll be in the top 2% of users. Set yourself that as a goal, and then eventually aim for once a week. I decided to do that 5 years ago and that led to me starting Growth Genie and leaving my old company.

  3. Customize your feed - unfollow people who are not relevant for you so you decide what’s on your feed, not LinkedIn.
