LinkedIn Tip
The part you’re missing
The most under-used section of a LinkedIn profile is the recommendations feature. This may be as you have to scroll way down to the bottom to see it.
Although some users won’t get to it, I still think it’s super important as it’s the most credible part. Why? It’s not you blowing your own trumpet, but it’s an external party.
But for those that use it, the problem is they get references from former employers or colleagues. If you’re looking to get a new job, that’s great. But if you want LinkedIn to be more of a lead generator, those are pointless.
So you should have references from happy customers you’ve sold to in the past. Now I appreciate if you’re new in your role and haven’t closed a deal yet, then that’s difficult, but keep this in mind as you close your first deals.
If you have closed deals, then think which happy customers do I have the best relationships with?
Check out my profile here and scroll to the recommendations to see some examples.
