If you regularly read this newsletter or consume lots of sales content in podcasts or on LinkedIn, I have a very important message for you.

What’s absolutely vital is how you apply the tactics you learn. These tactics are only as good as the effort you put into them. I’ve trained thousands of salespeople in the last 7 years. I can teach them all the skills in the world, but when they have a will and attitude issue, they always fail.

Some even love my training sessions, take lots of notes, but then apply none of the tactics and don’t put in the work.

You may know the Pareto law that 80% of revenue comes from 20% of salespeople. And that’s totally been my experience with training. Only a small percentage of people I train really have that hustle and secret sauce to become top performers.

So if you want to be one of them, don’t just copy everything another seller says. Learn it, write it down, apply it, and then adapt it to suit your style and your target audience. 

That’s how you’ll become an elite performer.
