Hooks are 90% of your reach on LinkedIn content and I have the data to prove it.

Here are stats from 2 of my LinkedIn posts:

Post 1

  • 77 likes. 12 comments. 3,600 impressions

Post 2

  • 13 likes. 5 comments. 7,800 impressions

The hook for post 1?

  • ‘‘Age 7-13: Trained daily to be a pro tennis player’’

The hook for post 2?

  • ‘‘Here's some BS advice I saw from a sales guru’’

I hate to admit this. Uncovering BS sales advice is more appealing than my failed tennis career.

Post 1 had 88 engagements, which was over 5 x post 2 with just 18 engagements.

BUT post 2 got 2 x reach because of the hook.

Takeaway if you post on LinkedIn:

Spend the most time on your hooks and continuously analyse them.
