direct mail

In a world of bots, AI agents and automation spamming buyers at an unprecedented level, we’re not sure if a message is sent by a human or a robot.

Apparently there are more bot profiles than real people on social media.

So the sellers that stand out will be those that show they’re a unique individual and one of a kind.

A great way to do this is by sending direct mail. But the problem with how most sellers and marketers do this is the same mistakes they make with their emails.

They make it all about them and their product by sending them “swag” like a t- shirt, water bottle or mouse mat with a company logo. But that’s your company logo not theirs! Sure people like free stuff, but it’s not memorable.

So what’s the solution? Research the client and customize the gift based on that.

So for example, if I see on LinkedIn that Steve, a VP Sales just hired 5 SDRs who are cold calling, I could send to his office 6 printed copies of our cold calling guide with the note:

“Hey Steve - saw your 5 young guns in your London office are making cold calls so thought these guides could help. Even included one for you in case you fancy jumping in the trenches.”

Show them you give a damn about them and not just your commission.

PS, if you’d like to see our cold calling guide, just reply to this message.
