AI’s Downfall
It Can’t Do Everything
AI is brilliant for research as it allows you to scrawl through millions of words on websites.
My favourite AI prompt is:
“Summarise (insert Company name’s) latest financial report in 200 words with 5 key takeaways”
This helps me prepare for discovery calls with new logos as well as research information for key accounts.
BUT once I start working with a company, I find human connection is much more effective than AI to do research.
Here are 5 renewal deals I won using personal info that'd be impossible for AI to find:
1) An SDR told me her CMO loved cooking and I knew she had a Spanish husband so sent her a Spanish cookbook.
2) An AE told me his VP Sales liked Greek mythology and I knew he recently had a baby so sent him a kids book with Greek myths
3) A PA told me a CEO had just moved to Denver so flew over there with 10 days notice
4) A Sales Manager told me his CEO was in Manchester so took a train to meet him in person the week after
5) A seller I coached told me her CRO was into tennis so invited him to play at my local club
Humans guard treasure that ChatGPT and AI can never find.
AI can only scrape the internet which means its knowledge is limited.
It's great for scraping financial reports, company websites and search engines BUT if you forget the humans you're selling to, you will lose.
Sales is becoming more and more robotic, so embrace the human behind the screen.
